Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is not jumping at the chance to be Nikki Haley’s running mate in the upcoming election. In an interview with Fox News’s Neil Cavuto, DeSantis flat out rejected the idea, proclaiming, “I am not going to accept that under any circumstances.” He’s got his sights set on the big prize – the presidency. He’s not about to settle for second best, folks.

DeSantis made it crystal clear that he’d much rather spend his final two years as governor than waste his time as vice president. He’s all about making an impact and delivering results to the people. And let’s face it, being vice president just doesn’t appeal to him. He’s not about that lack of power and inability to make real change. Can’t say that I blame him. Who wants to be stuck in a position like that?
But DeSantis didn’t stop there. He threw some shade at Haley, calling her out for not ruling out the possibility of being Donald Trump’s running mate if he were to be the nominee. He’s not afraid to point out that Haley has been cozying up to those Democrat donors and anti-Trump folks. DeSantis is all about speaking his mind and calling out the opposition. No sugar coating from him.
And speaking of Haley, she’s not ruling out the idea of teaming up with DeSantis either. She said she would “maybe” consider him as her running mate. Maybe? Come on, Haley, can’t you give a straight answer? It’s like they’re playing a game of political cat and mouse.
The stage is set for these two to go head-to-head in the fifth GOP primary debate in Des Moines. It’s like a heavyweight showdown, but instead of punches, they’ll be throwing political jabs.
