On Tuesday’s “CNN News Central,” Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) made a feeble attempt to defend the Democrats’ lax immigration policies. Dingell blabbered about needing a “tight” definition of what counts as a humanitarian crisis to justify letting people into the country under humanitarian parole. She whined about how there are “criminals that are coming over and then have done something horrific,” trying to paint Republicans as heartless for wanting to tighten up these parole rules.
The co-host, Sara Sidner, actually had the guts to ask Dingell about the GOP’s concerns with the humanitarian parole provision, which allows the government to let people in without going through the proper immigration process. Sidner pointed out that the Republicans want to stop this loophole because they don’t want criminals slipping through the cracks. Dingell danced around the issue, saying they need to define what a humanitarian crisis is. Of course, she conveniently failed to mention that criminals are taking advantage of this so-called humanitarian loophole.

Dingell’s wishy-washy response shows just how spineless Democrats are when it comes to protecting our borders. She waffled on whether the parole issue is a concern for her and didn’t commit to supporting anything until she knows the specifics. Typical liberal tactic, avoiding taking a stance to avoid being held accountable.
It’s clear that Democrats like Dingell are more worried about political correctness and pandering to open-border activists than they are about keeping Americans safe. Thankfully, we have Republicans who are standing up to these weak immigration policies and fighting to close these dangerous loopholes. Good on the GOP for not giving in to the Democrats’ defense of looser immigration rules. Keep up the good fight!
