DNC Targets Trump Tower in Stunt, Ignores Real Issues

The Democratic National Committee has pulled out the big guns, taking credit for shining “Project 2025 HQ” on the side of Trump Tower in Chicago during their national convention. Nothing says “we have nothing of substance to say” quite like projecting slogans onto buildings. This latest stunt is a desperate attempt to keep the ex-president’s name in the headlines, despite Trump’s claims that he has zero ties to the so-called Project 2025.

Yet, what exactly is Project 2025? It’s a collection of serious policy proposals promising to actually address issues that matter to Americans, organized by the Heritage Foundation and other conservative allies. But that’s clearly lost on the Democrats, who seem to think that mixing Trump’s name with a project focused on revitalizing America is their winning strategy. Instead of addressing real problems like the economy and border security, they’re more interested in turning Trump into an unwitting boogeyman.

Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for the Trump campaign, has made it abundantly clear that while Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats are busy fabricating connections, Trump is out there doing the hard work: rallying support in crucial battleground states. Instead of securing the border or balancing the budget, the Democrats prefer to shower cash on extravagant conventions that require fortifying against protests, all the while maintaining their anti-Trump narrative.

The DNC released a press statement claiming the projection serves to highlight the differences between their candidates and the Republican ticket. They tout Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz as champions for working families, while painting Trump and Senator J.D. Vance as proponents of some so-called “backwards agenda.” Apparently, they believe pushing for secure borders and economic freedom is a bad thing—no surprises there.

Despite Trump’s insistence that he isn’t involved with Project 2025, he’s been busy promoting his own plan, Agenda 47. This agenda tackles pressing issues like inflation and the chaos at the southern border, all of which appear to be anathema to Democratic values. Meanwhile, Project 2025’s director vacated his position earlier this summer, adding even more uncertainty to its future. The Trump campaign triumphantly stated it is totally disassociated from Project 2025, which some Democrats might argue is a victory in its own right.

As the Democratic National Convention kicks off this week with President Biden taking the spotlight, the reflection of Project 2025 on Trump Tower is less about shining light on policy and more about a party scrambling for relevance. All the projections in the world can’t distract from the fact that the Democrats seem to be out of ideas, relying heavily on theatrics rather than real solutions for the American people.
