In a jaw-dropping legal battle, special counsel Jack Smith is practically begging the Supreme Court to put a swift end to the nonsensical claims made by former President Donald Trump that he should be immune from charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot. You see, Trump’s legal team is trying to pull a fast one, arguing that there’s no need for the high court to get involved and that the start of the 77-year-old’s trial could be delayed. But Smith’s team ain’t having it! Just to add some more spice to the mix, the same week that this whole Supreme Court drama unfolded, the Colorado Supreme Court said, “Sorry, Trump, you’re not getting on the GOP primary ballot.” The man just can’t catch a break! But you can bet your bottom dollar that Trump’s campaign is kicking and screaming about that one too, vowing to take it all the way to the Supreme Court.
