Sanctuary cities and states have long been the playgrounds of radical leftists who value open borders over the safety of American citizens. Now, the Department of Justice is finally calling out these lawless jurisdictions for what they truly are: hotbeds of crime and defiance against federal law. More than 30 cities, counties, and states have been slapped with the label “sanctuary” because they flagrantly obstruct immigration enforcement and shield dangerous criminals instead of protecting everyday Americans.
Let’s be clear: these sanctuary policies aren’t just misguided — they are downright dangerous. Places like California, New York, and Oregon, along with cities from Chicago to Seattle, are prioritizing illegal immigrants over hardworking Americans. Instead of cooperating with federal authorities, they’re releasing known criminals back onto the streets, putting law-abiding citizens at serious risk. This open defiance of federal law isn’t a matter of “compassion” or “human rights,” it’s pure political arrogance from leaders more concerned about their woke voting base than public safety.
Attorney General Pam Bondi’s aggressive move to publish a blacklist of sanctuary jurisdictions is long overdue. It sends a clear message that the federal government will no longer stand idly by while local officials undermine border security and law enforcement efforts. Partnering with the Department of Homeland Security to take legal action against these rogue cities and states shows that President Trump’s administration means business about putting America first. This is how you restore order and respect for the rule of law — by holding sanctuary cities accountable.

The real scandal here is the blatant hypocrisy and anti-American sentiment driving these sanctuary policies. These jurisdictions willingly block federal agents from doing their jobs while demanding more taxpayer money and resources to deal with the fallout. Their radical open-borders agenda has turned our streets into battlegrounds, all for the sake of embracing illegal immigration to please globalist elites and create a cheap labor pool. Meanwhile, the people who live in these areas are left to suffer the consequences: higher crime rates, strained services, and shattered communities.
Enough is enough. It’s time to stop coddling sanctuary cities and states that treat American laws like suggestions. The Department of Justice must keep the pressure on and use every legal tool to shut down these lawless zones.
