Don Lemon Crosses the Line: Calls for Armed Resistance Against ICE

Don Lemon told listeners on the Left Hook podcast to “get a gun legally” and to “get a license to carry legally” so people could be ready if Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed up at their doors — advice he framed around the Second Amendment and warnings about “due process.” This was not a casual historical reflection; it was a direct, modern-day provocation from a man still treated as a media authority by too many, and it was broadcast to an audience that listens.

Lemon went further in the interview, insisting “nobody is illegal” and downplaying border crossings as mere misdemeanors while invoking images of people being sent “off to a gulag,” language designed to inflame and to paint lawful enforcement as tyrannical. Those were more than slippery rhetoric — they were an attempt to recast criminal entry as moral high ground and to justify armed resistance if federal officers do their jobs.

Conservative commentators and ordinary Americans saw exactly what this was: a dangerous nudge toward real-world violence. Voices across the right have called Lemon out for what amounts to incitement by implication, demanding accountability and a real investigation into whether his words crossed the line from protected speech to criminal encouragement of violence.

This isn’t theoretical. Federal officers are already facing a tidal wave of threats and attacks according to government figures cited in coverage, and encouraging civilian confrontation with law enforcement while painting enforcement as illegitimate is reckless and irresponsible. When a celebrity-level media figure uses his platform to normalize arming up against federal agents, it puts honest families, local cops and federal officers at risk — and it fuels the very chaos the left claims to fear.

Patriots who love this country should not shrink from calling for consequences. Incitement to violence is not a partisan slogan; it is a real legal boundary meant to protect lives and preserve the rule of law. Don Lemon should be investigated by the proper authorities, and media institutions and platforms that amplify this kind of rhetoric must answer for enabling it.

We cannot let a culture of celebrity immunity and left-wing double standards make martyrs out of lawbreakers while instructing others to take up arms against the people sworn to enforce our laws. If we are serious about liberty, we must demand both free speech and responsibility: hold Don Lemon accountable, defend our officers, and stop the media from turning sedition into ratings.
