Ted Cruz raises concerns about how children are being targeted and influenced online, and Dr. Phil agrees, emphasizing that the situation has only worsened over time. He points out that families and traditional values are under attack, and social media platforms are fueling this assault.
As a conservative, it’s no surprise that I wholeheartedly agree with Dr. Phil on this matter. Social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram are truly ruining the lives of our children. They are bombarded with harmful content that impedes their healthy development into responsible adults. We must acknowledge the extent of the damage caused by social media.
But it doesn’t end there. Influencers on these platforms are grooming vulnerable children, leading them down destructive paths. How many kids have fallen victim to the transgender ideology because of online manipulation? How many have tragically taken their own lives due to cyberbullying? This intentional harm is aggravated by foreign forces like the Chinese government, which tightly controls their domestic social media platforms while promoting chaos in the United States.
Dr. Phil highlights that social media algorithms play a significant role in this crisis. Kids are exposed to toxic information and directed towards dangerous websites within hours of creating an account. As a conservative writer, I’m not sure if government intervention is the best solution. However, the urgency to address this issue cannot be understated. Children simply lack the maturity and discernment necessary to navigate the deceptive world of social media.
Ultimately, the responsibility lies with parents. If you allow your children, even teenagers, unrestricted access to social media, you are fundamentally failing them. Protecting their well-being outweighs the desire to fit in or be “normal.” It’s time to prioritize the safety and healthy development of our children over letting them swim in the toxic waters of social media. The stakes are high, and action needs to be taken before it’s too late.
