Capitol Hill is bracing itself for the bombshell testimony of special counsel John Durham this week, following the release of his report last month which exposed serious wrongdoing by federal authorities in their attempt to connect Russia to the 2016 presidential campaign of former President Donald Trump. Durham will appear before the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, headed by Republicans, on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Durham’s four-year investigation into the false allegations of Trump-Russia collusion culminated in a 306-page report which provided damning evidence that the FBI rushed to investigate without any evidence of a connection between Trump and Russian intelligence officials. Even FBI records showed that no such connection existed during the 2016 campaign.
The Obama administration was also exposed to have sought a warrant to conduct surveillance on a foreign policy advisor to Trump. Additionally, the infamous Steele dossier that made baseless allegations against Trump was supported by no evidence whatsoever, despite former British intelligence official Christopher Steele’s best attempts to corroborate the claims. Even vendors for Hillary Clinton’s campaign refused to hand over documents requested by Durham during his investigation.
Former President Trump consistently cried foul about the ongoing “witch hunt” designed to discredit his presidency, and Durham’s report serves as a major vindication of the former president’s claims. The upcoming testimony will only buttress calls by Republicans to impeach FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland and cut funding for the Bureau.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, another high-ranking Democrat, was recently forced to deny accusations that he was behind the coordinated effort to discredit Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop, which contained evidence of corruption by the Bidens. All such desperate and disingenuous attempts by Democrats to accuse Republicans of Russian collusion have now been thoroughly debunked by Durham’s investigation and report.
As House Republicans prepare to bring the wrongdoing of the FBI and Obama administration to light, Democrats will be left scrambling to defend themselves against the wave of hard truths being revealed by Durham’s investigation.
