Another day, another overpriced electric truck that regular Americans can’t afford. The new Rivian R1T Gen 2 Quad costs a whopping $120,000 and boasts over 1000 horsepower. While working families struggle to put gas in their pickup trucks, wealthy elites are dropping six figures on toys that can go from zero to sixty in under three seconds.
This isn’t about saving the planet or helping American workers. It’s about virtue signaling for the rich. The truck comes loaded with fancy features like a hidden flashlight and a removable speaker that nobody actually needs. Meanwhile, a decent used F-150 that can actually haul your boat costs a fraction of the price.
The company claims this electric monster gets 400 miles of range, but that drops to around 370 miles when you use all that power they’re bragging about. So much for reliability when you’re trying to get real work done. The whole thing screams Silicon Valley excess wrapped up in fake environmental concern.
Of course, taxpayers are subsidizing these luxury vehicles through government rebates and tax breaks. Why should hardworking Americans help pay for some tech billionaire’s new plaything? The same politicians pushing these policies drive around in gas-powered limos while lecturing us about our carbon footprints.
The truck needs special charging stations that don’t exist in most of rural America. Good luck finding a Tesla Supercharger when you’re hauling equipment to a job site in Iowa. This whole electric vehicle push ignores how real Americans live and work outside of major cities.
Rivian is adding features like hands-free driving and something called a “kick turn” that lets the truck spin in circles. These are gimmicks designed to impress people at country club parking lots. Real truck owners care about towing capacity, reliability, and not breaking the bank on repairs.
The media keeps pushing these expensive electric vehicles as the future while ignoring their massive flaws. They can’t handle cold weather, take forever to charge, and cost more than most people’s houses. It’s another example of coastal elites being completely out of touch with regular Americans.
This overpriced electric truck represents everything wrong with today’s environmental movement. It’s not about practical solutions or helping working people. It’s about wealthy liberals buying expensive toys while pretending they’re saving the world and expecting everyone else to pay for it.
