In a hilariously typical turn of events for 2023, the left-wing elitists over at the Oxford English Dictionary have revealed their annual “word of the year,” and it’s a real doozy.

The 2023 Oxford Word of the Year is the made-up word “rizz,” and if your first thought is to question whether this is even a real word, you’re not alone. Apparently, it’s some Gen Z slang term that the elitist linguists think is just the bee’s knees.
The New York Times is all in a tizzy about this “rizz” nonsense, but let’s be real, unless you’ve got Gen Z kiddos running around, you’ve probably never even heard of it. And if any snooty liberal tries to shame you for not knowing what “rizz” means, just tell them to take a hike.
What’s even more ridiculous is that Oxford itself admits that this term didn’t really start popping up until 2022, and then all of a sudden, everyone and their grandma decided to start using it this year. Go figure, right?
In case you’re still scratching your head over this “rizz” business, it turns out that it’s just a fancy way of saying “charisma.” Yeah, you read that right. They’ve gone and made up a word to describe something that already has a perfectly good word to describe it.
But wait, it gets even better. Oxford notes that “rizz” comes from the middle of “charisma,” which, according to them, is some kind of “unusual word formation pattern.” They seriously expect us to buy into this mumbo jumbo? It’s about as convincing as a used car salesman trying to pass off a lemon as a luxury ride.
To add insult to injury, this nonsense “rizz” beat out some other words that didn’t feel like they were just plucked out of thin air. We’re talking “prompt,” “situationship,” and even “Swiftie,” the term for Taylor Swift super fans. You know the world’s gone topsy-turvy when a made-up word like “rizz” outshines actual relevant terms.
And let’s not forget, this award is supposed to represent a snapshot of the year. Well, if this “rizz” debacle is the best they’ve got, we’re really in trouble, folks. It’s just more proof that the liberal elite are completely out of touch with reality.
