The ongoing feud between Elon Musk and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has taken another entertaining turn. This time, Musk took aim at Ocasio-Cortez’s bizarre interpretation of Ellis Island, and the internet exploded. But let’s break it down – does she not understand the distinction between the controlled immigration process on Ellis Island and the uncontrolled influx at the border today? It seems that there were far more checks and inspections back then, including physical exams and tests for diseases and mental impairment. In the past, immigrants could be denied entry if they were deemed likely to become a burden on the state due to contagious diseases or mental disabilities. They could also face rejection for having a criminal record or demonstrating low moral character. It’s clear that AOC’s understanding of history is lacking, and Elon Musk, who has been critical of Biden’s handling of the border crisis, wasn’t about to let that slide.

Knowing AOC’s track record, it’s safe to say she didn’t take this criticism well. The youngest woman ever elected to Congress started firing back, boasting about her accomplishments, including investigating Cohen and creating government programs. However, let’s examine those claims. AOC claims she wasn’t born rich, but she grew up in a well-off neighborhood in Westchester, not the Bronx. And let’s not forget that Biden’s Climate Corps, which she touts, is just another government program funded by our hard-earned taxpayers’ money. It’s hardly an accomplishment worth bragging about. Additionally, winning her district as a Democrat isn’t exactly impressive; any candidate from that area would have secured victory. As Nancy Pelosi once said, even a glass of water with a “D” on it could win.
Despite her attempts to defend herself, AOC fails to address the criticism that she lacks intelligence. Any rational person can see that creating more government programs is not a wise use of our money. It’s ironic how she claims Musk is mad when he has accomplished so much with Tesla and SpaceX, while she was just a former bartender. The difference in achievements between them is staggering. What’s even more amusing is that she communicates on Musk’s platform and drives a Tesla, even though she has been promising to sell it for over a year. It seems she just can’t quit Elon.
