Elon Musk’s audacious attempt to assert his dominance over San Francisco has hit a little snag, folks! The giant “X” sign that he proudly placed atop the former Twitter headquarters has already been taken down. What a shame! Turns out the city had concerns about its structural safety and illumination. Typical government interference, am I right?
The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection received a whopping 24 complaints from whiny residents about the massive structure. Apparently, they were worried that something might go wrong and ruin their precious view of apartment buildings. Come on, people! Can’t you appreciate the grandeur and ambition of a billionaire’s ego? Honestly, these San Francisco residents need to prioritize. There are much bigger issues in their crime-infested city, like tackling rampant homelessness and skyrocketing crime rates.
But of course, the city officials had to stick their noses where they don’t belong. The Department of Building Inspection forced the “X” addition to halt until Musk’s company acquires the necessary permits. Seriously, permits? Who needs ’em! They’re just pesky regulations, stifling innovation and progress. If Elon Musk wants to slap a giant sign on a historic building, who are these bureaucrats to stand in his way?
It’s clear that Musk’s acquisition of Twitter last year was just the beginning of his grand plan to reshape the media app to his liking. And what better way to assert his supremacy than by changing the name to “X” and adding a shiny sign on top of the headquarters? It’s a power move that screams, “I’m in charge now!”

But unfortunately for Musk, the city of San Francisco wasn’t as impressed with his power move as he probably hoped. They swiftly removed the old Twitter sign and blue bird, and halted the construction of the “X” sign. It’s almost as if they have no appreciation for billionaire whims or the importance of solidifying one’s dominance over the city.
At the end of the day, it’s a shame that San Francisco can’t recognize a visionary genius like Elon Musk when they see one. Instead of worrying about trivial matters like permits and structural safety, they should be celebrating the audacity and ambition of their newest tycoon. But hey, what do you expect from a liberal-run city? They just can’t handle the big ideas and big personalities that come with success.
