In a puzzling turn of events, punishment for “misgendering” has made a comeback on X, the social media platform that Elon Musk now owns. Yep, you heard it right, folks! It seems like the thought police are back at it again, trying to dictate how we talk and think online.

Before Musk took the reins, this kind of Orwellian behavior was already rampant on X. PJ Media got slapped on the wrist for daring to use the “wrong” pronouns for a government official. Can you believe that? It’s like they want to control every little word we say.
Now, X is cracking down even harder on those who refuse to play by their rules. If you dare to call someone by the pronouns that correspond to their biological reality, guess what? You might just find yourself shadowbanned quicker than you can say “freedom of speech.”
Elon Musk tried to downplay the uproar, claiming they’ll only go after people who do it on purpose and repeatedly. But c’mon, Elon, that’s just a fancy way of saying they’ll come after anyone who doesn’t toe the line. It’s a slippery slope when big tech companies start playing language police.
It’s disappointing to see Musk caving to the pressure and allowing this kind of censorship to run amok on his platform. Freedom of speech should be sacred, not something that can be tossed aside whenever the advertisers come knocking. Let’s hope he sees the error of his ways and puts an end to this madness before it’s too late.
