Former Trump ally and lawyer Jenna Ellis has made headlines after pleading guilty to one felony count of aiding and abetting false statements. Ellis, who now faces years of probation and a fine, implicated others in her plea deal, including Rudy Giuliani. According to Ellis, she assisted Giuliani and Ray Smith in making false statements to Georgia lawmakers during a legislative hearing. This puts them all in legal jeopardy.
While the terms of Ellis’s plea agreement have not been made public, three other co-defendants narrowly avoided prison time by reaching similar plea deals. It is important to note that former President Donald Trump has distanced himself from Powell, stating that she was never his lawyer.
