In a shocking and horrifying incident, a former Trump official was left fighting for his life after a deadly nighttime carjacking in the crime-ridden streets of Washington, D.C. This is just another example of the escalating violence and lawlessness plaguing our nation’s capital under the ineffective leadership of the Biden administration.

Mike Gill, a former chief operating officer at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, was shot during the terrifying encounter. It’s a miracle he survived such a brutal attack. Gill is known as a dedicated family man, someone who values love, unity, and community. It is truly heartbreaking to see such a genuine person fall victim to the senseless violence that has become all too common in Democrat-controlled areas.
Unfortunately, Gill’s story is not unique. Just hours later, the same gunman attempted another carjacking, leaving one innocent victim dead. This is the reality of the lawlessness that is spreading like wildfire in cities like D.C. and Maryland. It is clear that the radical left’s push for lenient criminal justice reforms and defunding the police has only emboldened criminals and put innocent lives at risk.
The mayhem didn’t end there. A high-speed chase ensued as Maryland State Police and the suspect exchanged gunfire along the interstate. Thankfully, the dangerous criminal was eventually stopped by the brave actions of New Carrollton police officers. But let’s not forget that it took multiple law enforcement agencies and an extensive manhunt to apprehend this maniac.
This incident is a wake-up call for all Americans. The Biden administration and their Democrat allies must take a hard look at their failed policies that have allowed our cities to descend into chaos. It’s time for leaders who prioritize law and order, who support our law enforcement agencies, and who prioritize the safety of law-abiding citizens over the demands of radical activists.
Our hearts go out to Mike Gill and his family as they navigate this difficult time. We must honor their resilience and fight to ensure that no more innocent lives are lost to the rampant crime sweeping through our communities.
