In a stunning turn of events, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been caught with evidence that completely exonerates former President Donald Trump and other Republicans from any wrongdoing in their objections to the 2020 election results. This bombshell report comes from none other than The Federalist, a reliable source known for its dedication to honest and unbiased reporting.
According to Willis, Trump and his team engaged in a “conspiracy” to manipulate votes and overturn the election results in Georgia. She even went so far as to name individuals, including David Schafer and Ray Smith, who she claimed were involved in this nefarious scheme. However, a transcript of a crucial meeting between the electors, obtained by The Federalist, tells a completely different story.
During the meeting on December 14, 2020, Schafer made it clear that he and his fellow electors were acting as “Republican nominees for Presidential Elector,” not as “duly elected and qualified” presidential electors. Their goal was to preserve Trump’s rights to contest the election results, not to impersonate public officers. In fact, Schafer and Trump had filed a lawsuit against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office just ten days prior, alleging improper or illegal vote counting.
It is important to note that the lawsuit was still pending at the time of the December 14 meeting, when the presidential electors were scheduled to cast their votes. In order to have their complaint heard by a judge, Schafer and the Republican electors felt it necessary to meet and continue the contest. This was a lawful and historically precedented action taken by Trump’s legal team.
It’s clear that Willis’s indictments are nothing more than baseless accusations meant to tarnish the reputation of Trump and his fellow Republicans. The evidence speaks for itself, and it’s time for the District Attorney to drop these absurd charges and focus on real issues facing Fulton County.
