In a fiery moment at the second 2024 GOP debate, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy didn’t hold back on his thoughts about the gender ideology craze, boldly stating that transgenderism is a “mental health disorder.” The crowd erupted in applause as Ramaswamy made his strong statement, leaving no room for ambiguity.

Moderator Dana Perino brought up the controversial topic of gender-reassignment surgeries for children, prompting Ramaswamy to voice his support for a national ban on such practices. Many Republican-led states have already taken the lead, outlawing sex-change surgeries for minors. Ramaswamy didn’t hesitate to take a stand, making it clear where he stands on the issue.

But it didn’t stop there. Ramaswamy also spoke about parental rights, pointing out the hypocrisy in denying parents the right to know about the increased risk of suicide associated with transgenderism. He passionately argued that it is not compassionate to affirm a child’s confusion, emphasizing that it is actually cruel.
To drive his point home, Ramaswamy shared a personal encounter where he met two young women who deeply regretted their gender reassignment surgeries and the consequences they now face. He emphasized the irreversible nature of these procedures, as one of the women will never be able to carry a pregnancy. This experience further fueled his determination to ban genital mutilation or chemical castration for those under the age of 18.
Ramaswamy’s no-nonsense approach and his willingness to tackle the tough topics head-on have resonated with many conservative voters, propelling him to the top of the GOP polls. His strong stance on transgenderism is sure to draw both applause and criticism from across the political spectrum.
