The Republicans in the House are talking about their fight behind the scenes with an FBI agent over the censorship of the story about Hunter Biden's laptop. The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee went on Twitter to talk about their heated talks with Elvis Chan, an assistant special agent in charge in San Francisco. They had some angry emails back and forth, and committee staff made it clear that either the FBI or Chan's lawyer could come, but not both.
When the DOJ chose to send its own lawyer to the interview with Chan and his own lawyer, things went from bad to worse. The committee said, "Oh no, you didn't!" and told them not to bother coming. The FBI had their own dramatic take on the story, of course. They said that Chan, who went all the way to the Capitol, was not allowed to have his best lawyer there with him. How exciting!

If Chan's future deposition doesn't go as planned, this whole mess is just a taste of what's to come. By letting the public know about this drama, the group seems to be getting ready for more problems in the future. Chan is a key witness in the Republicans' probe of social media censorship, which includes everything from Hunter Biden's laptop to COVID-19 vaccines. Who would have thought that one man could be in so many fights?
Jim Jordan, who is in charge of the committee, doesn't hide what he thinks about Chan. He says that he lied during his interview because he supposedly knew something about the laptop that he didn't want to share. Jordan is even thinking about making new laws to protect the First Amendment and fight against censorship. Things look like they are just getting going.
