New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, more like Michelle “Gun Control” Grisham, faced a major setback in her quest to strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights. A federal judge had the good sense to issue a temporary restraining order against Grisham’s outrageous 30-day ban on concealed and open carry firearms. Boom! Take that, big government!
Grisham’s unconstitutional ban was supposed to last until October 8, but thanks to this restraining order, it will be cut short on October 3. Even though the ban was technically in effect, gun owners in New Mexico stood up for their rights and openly defied it. And guess what? Law enforcement agencies, from the Albuquerque Police Department to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, had the courage to defy the governor too. They refused to enforce or defend this tyrannical order because they knew it violated our sacred Constitution.
During the hearing, the judge clearly signaled that Grisham’s attorney had a tough road ahead in defending this ridiculous ban. And rightly so! How can you just assume that law-abiding gun owners will suddenly become criminals? That’s like saying everyone who likes ice cream is going to start robbing banks. It’s completely absurd!
I have to give a shoutout to New Mexico’s Attorney General, Raúl Torrez. He had the guts to prioritize defending the constitutional rights of every citizen over toeing the party line. Torrez understood that this pointless Emergency Order would do nothing but trample on our freedoms. Bravo, sir!
But wait, there’s more! Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen, also a Democrat, didn’t let party loyalty cloud his judgment either. He firmly stated that he would not enforce this unconstitutional order because, guess what, it’s unconstitutional! It’s like he actually read the Constitution and understood the importance of the Second Amendment. What a concept!
Grisham’s attempt to undermine the rights of law-abiding citizens under the guise of “public health” has been rightfully squashed. It’s heartening to see judges, law enforcement, and even some Democrats standing up for the Constitution. Let this be a lesson to all who dare to infringe upon our sacred rights: we will not back down! Keep your hands off our firearms, Governor Grisham!
