Fed Policies Turn American Dream of Homeownership into a Nightmare

The Federal Reserve has completely destroyed the American dream of homeownership with their reckless policies. Over the past few years, they hiked interest rates eleven times in a desperate attempt to fix the inflation mess they helped create. Mortgage rates skyrocketed from just 3.4 percent to over 7 percent, pricing out millions of hardworking families.

Housing costs have surged 5 percent in just one year while regular Americans struggle to pay their bills. The government bureaucrats at the Fed keep moving the goalposts, claiming they need to hit a magical 2 percent inflation target. Meanwhile, families across America are being crushed by housing costs that eat up huge chunks of their paychecks.

The so-called experts have created a rigged system that benefits the wealthy elite while destroying opportunities for everyone else. When interest rates shot up, existing homeowners with low-rate mortgages got locked into their homes, afraid to sell and lose their cheap loans. This artificial scarcity drove home prices even higher, making it impossible for young families to buy their first home.

Government meddling has created a housing shortage crisis that didnt exist before. The bureaucrats in Washington think they can control the entire economy with their fancy computer models and theories. Instead, theyve made everything worse for the people who actually work for a living and follow the rules.

The Federal Reserve admits that housing supply moves very slowly compared to other goods and services. Yet they keep using the same failed playbook that treats houses like widgets in a factory. Their one-size-fits-all approach has backfired spectacularly, punishing savers and homebuyers while protecting the financial elites.

Transaction volume in the housing market dropped by 30 percent as families gave up hope of moving or buying. The few homes that do sell go to the highest bidders, often wealthy investors with cash. Regular Americans are being pushed out of entire neighborhoods by government policies that favor the connected class.

Rent growth continues to outpace wage growth, squeezing working families from every direction. Property taxes, insurance costs, and maintenance expenses keep climbing while wages stay flat. The government creates the problem, then acts surprised when people cant afford basic necessities like shelter.

Real solutions require getting government out of the way and letting free markets work. Americans need lower taxes, fewer regulations, and policies that actually help workers instead of Wall Street banks. Until we stop this corrupt system of crony capitalism, hardworking families will keep paying the price for government failure.
