In a huge victory for border security, federal officials have uncovered a devious plan to smuggle deadly drugs, including fentanyl and heroin, across the U.S.-Mexico border inside fire extinguishers. This operation, appropriately named “Operation Smoke Jumpers,” took two years of persistence and hard work to bust, resulting in the seizure of a whopping 680,992 fentanyl pills and large quantities of fentanyl powder, heroin, and methamphetamine.
The group behind this nefarious scheme is alleged to have utilized a San Diego-based trucking company, Carin Trucking, to transport these dangerous drugs into the United States. According to the investigation, these criminals involved at least six semi-trucks in their appalling operation, using the guise of scrap metal deliveries to conceal the illicit substances inside fire extinguishers. This level of deception is truly astonishing and represents the lengths to which these lawless individuals will go to peddle their deadly wares.
