Finnerty Grills Todd: Media’s Epstein Cover-Up Exposed

Rob Finnerty’s sparring with Chuck Todd over the Epstein files and the state of modern journalism showed exactly why hardworking Americans have lost faith in the media. Finnerty didn’t sugarcoat the questions conservatives have been asking about who benefits from secrecy and why important leads seem to go cold, and Todd’s polite defensiveness only underscored how out of touch establishment reporters have become. This wasn’t a gentle conversation — it was a confrontation about accountability and the press’s duty to the public.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post’s internal turmoil and Jeff Bezos’ hands-off, profit-first approach have conservatives worried that once-respected outlets are now corporate playthings. Recent waves of layoffs and editorial shakeups at the Post show a paper shrinking its coverage and, frankly, its courage, while ownership decisions raise questions about editorial independence and priorities. Americans who pay subscriptions deserve a news industry that values truth over balance sheets and political calculus.

On the Epstein files themselves, the Department of Justice’s public statements — and subsequent media narratives — have left too many unanswered questions for too many people. Coverage that rapidly concluded there was no “client list” and confirmed the official cause of death has only fed the perception that powerful people get cushioned explanations while victims get the short end of the stick. Conservatives have every right to demand a full accounting rather than being lectured about conspiracy theories when a reasonable call for transparency is made.

President Trump and Republican lawmakers have pushed for full disclosure of Epstein-related materials, and that push is gaining traction in conservative media as a test of whether institutions will value victims over reputations. In interviews and on programs like Finnerty’s, Trump said he wanted everything released — a straightforward demand that any patriotic American who cares about justice can understand — while senators such as Ted Cruz publicly urged making all documents available to expose accomplices and crimes. If there’s nothing to hide, then transparency should be immediate.

All of this lays bare a simple truth: liberal journalism’s reflex to protect elites and paper over inconvenient facts is precisely why so many Americans tune into independent conservative outlets instead. When reputable investigations conclude there’s “no public evidence” tying certain figures to wrongdoing, that should end the story — but too often it becomes the starting point for more leaks, obfuscation, and selective outrage. Patriots who love this country should demand better from our institutions, and conservatives will keep pressing until the full truth is brought into the light.
