The California political landscape is seeing an increasing trend of former Democrats trading in their blue cards for a shiny red Republican membership, and former State Senator Gloria Romero has just made headlines with her bold move. Romero, who once held the esteemed title of Senate Majority Leader in California, declared her departure from the Democratic Party with a flair for the dramatic. She’s joining a growing list of former party diehards, proclaiming that many are leaving the party in search of something that actually represents their values. Those values apparently include an embrace of the glorious working-class Ryan Reynolds figure that is the modern GOP, polished by none other than Donald Trump himself.
