Matt Gaetz, Republican congressman from Florida, made a bold statement at the Iowa State Fair that has caused quite a stir among the left. Standing next to former President Trump, Gaetz declared that “only through force do we make any change in a corrupt town like Washington, D.C.” This comment has led to accusations of inciting violence and even calls for Gaetz’s resignation.
While some may interpret Gaetz’s words as a call for overthrowing the government, it is important to consider the context in which they were spoken.
