It seems taxpayers not only funded his lavish accommodations but also his “humanitarian flight” to Atlanta, where he carried out an unspeakable act of violence against Riley after she bravely fought off his sexual assault for 18 minutes. While Laken Riley fought for her life, there were plenty of bureaucratic enablers ensuring Ibarra’s stay was cushy and comfortable.
The narrative surrounding this case should be a wake-up call. The Biden-Harris administration’s failure to secure the border might as well have handed illegal immigrants a welcome mat and a gift card to the nearest holiday inn. Ibarra didn’t just slip through the cracks; he waltzed into the country, took advantage of taxpayer services, and then proceeded to rain down horror on an innocent life. It’s undeniable: the border policies form a direct link between unchecked immigration and preventable tragedies.

In light of this horrific crime, President-elect Donald Trump is taking decisive action. He has announced plans for an emergency declaration that would deploy military resources as part of a deportation task force targeting criminal elements like Ibarra. This is a necessary step to wrest back control from chaotic border policies that delight pro-sanctuary city mayors who seem determined to protect notorious criminals. Local Democrats, it seems, are more interested in their political agendas than public safety, as they repeatedly ignore ICE’s detainer requests for individuals charged with heinous crimes, including child rape.
Tom Homan, designated as the new Border Czar, has signaled he is fed up. He has called out the hypocrisy of sanctuary city policies that play fast and loose with the law in the name of compassion, endangering the very communities they claim to serve. The TED Talk-style presentations from Democrats about kindness and compassion should come with a side of accountability. When local law enforcement ignores FBI background checks or fails to act on ICE information, lives are put in jeopardy.
