The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), enacted in 1993, stands as a beacon of hope in these precarious times. The act prohibits the federal government from substantially burdening a person’s exercise of religion, even if the burden results from a general applicability rule. However, religious freedom in the workplace is not an absolute right and we must consider the other side of the coin – the responsibilities that religious rights bear. While the law protects us from workplace discrimination on religious grounds, we should also be mindful not to impose our beliefs on others or create an uncomfortable working environment.

It’s Time to Stand Up!

Just as the Apostle Paul stood before King Agrippa defending his faith, it is time to stand up for our religious rights, particularly in the workplace. We are navigating an era where fundamental Christian values are viewed as intolerable in the secular workplace. But should we cower in submission? No! Now is the time to firmly but respectfully assert our faith and ensure that our rights are upheld.

We are all called to serve and manifest His divine will in our lives, including our work. Let your actions reflect His love. Remember, bible says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (Colossians 3:23).
