House Republican leadership, including Speaker Mike Johnson and other top dogs, are throwing some major shade at the Senate’s “Border Act.” These GOP big shots are totally dissing the bill, saying it’s a total dud and going absolutely nowhere if it even tries to sneak out of the upper chamber.
House Leadership Goes Scorched Earth on Senate Border Bill

The GOP crew is fired up, claiming this Senate immigration bill is a hot mess. They’re saying it falls way short in all the areas needed to lock down our border and, get this, it would actually make more folks want to sneak into the country illegally. Can you believe that?
The bill’s got more holes than a block of Swiss cheese, according to these House Republicans. They’re yapping about how it gives work permits to illegal aliens without fixing the broken asylum system. And get this, it even lets illegals be ‘released from physical custody;’ it’s like they’re rolling out the red carpet for them! These House GOP honchos are shouting from the rooftops that this is just a green light for more of that ‘catch and release’ nonsense Biden loves so much.
But wait, there’s more! The bill has some so-called ‘shutdown’ authority, but these Republicans are pointing out that it’s as leaky as a sieve. They’re saying it gives way too much power to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who’s apparently been running wild down at the border. And don’t even get them started on how it doesn’t do squat to stop President Biden’s abuse of parole power and even uses taxpayer moolah to put up illegal immigrants in fancy hotels. What’s next, room service for lawbreakers?
As if that wasn’t enough, these House GOP heavy hitters are calling out Biden for dropping the ball on his duty to fix the border mess he made. They’re bragging about their own bill, the Secure the Border Act, which they say actually has what it takes to stop the flow of lawbreakers and put an end to the whole kaboodle. They’re basically giving the Senate a kick in the pants, telling them to take up their bill pronto.
And on the other side of the ring, you’ve got Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and a couple of other Republican bigwigs, along with President Biden, cheering on this Senate bill. They’re all rah-rah for a bipartisan deal that’s supposed to be the toughest and fairest border reforms in, like, forever. They’re even tossing in some extra goodies for Ukraine, Israel, and the Palestinians.
So, there you have it, folks. The House Republicans are giving the old heave-ho to the Senate’s “Border Act,” while the other side is shouting “Go, go, go!” for it. It’s an all-out political brawl, and it’s getting hotter than a jalapeño pepper!
