Once again, Senate Republicans have rolled over and let Democrats run the show, gutting funding for the one thing this country desperately needs—real border security. The latest so-called “funding bill” might reopen some parts of the Department of Homeland Security, but at a steep price: major agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement are left out in the cold, and Customs and Border Protection gets fed only scraps. This isn’t just a friendly compromise. It’s a victory for the radical left and a big, bold slap in the face to Americans who want our laws enforced.
Republicans did their usual dance of pretending to stand firm. But when push came to shove, they buckled—again—letting Democrats dictate the terms. Sure, there’s money hidden elsewhere, thanks to the president’s prior foresight, but why should ICE and CBP have their budgets dangled on a string every year? American families look to our leaders to put citizens first. Instead, left-wing politicians are celebrating today—not because they made our country safer, but because they stopped deportations, protected illegal aliens, and tied the hands of the very agents meant to keep us safe.

Let’s not forget the real chaos that comes straight from the Democratic playbook. They’ll say they didn’t get all their radical “reforms”—the kind that would turn our agents into unrecognizable, powerless paper pushers—but they got exactly what they wanted: less money for enforcement, fewer resources to stop illegal immigration, and another political win to brag about back home. Americans waiting in endless airport lines or worried about crime pouring across the border have liberals to thank for this mess.
Don’t be fooled by the victory laps from across the aisle. The left is obsessed with globalist priorities and open borders. They’re not losing sleep over hardworking ICE and Border Patrol agents scratching for resources or watching the border descend into chaos. They only care about signaling their “compassion” while ignoring the pain and insecurity their policies unleash on everyday Americans.
Every time conservatives try to push for real solutions—actual reforms that would help the country—the left doubles down on bad-faith obstruction. It’s clear: they don’t care about safety. They don’t care about sovereignty. They only care about dismantling anything that makes America strong, safe, and independent. How many more “compromises” will GOP leaders make before the border is nothing more than a line on a map?
