Tim Walz, the relatively undiscovered governor of Minnesota, has paraded himself as a cheerful, approachable father figure. Beneath this carefully crafted image lurks a leader who faltered spectacularly when his constituents needed him most during a time of crisis. The summer of 2020 was marked by chaos, with Minneapolis transformed into a warzone following the tragic death of George Floyd. Walz’s response to the unrest has left many questioning how someone with his supposed folksy charm could fail so dramatically in protecting his own city.
