Graham Blasts Biden for Silence on Iran Amid UN Controversy and Election Meddling Claims

Senator Lindsey Graham has raised eyebrows while putting the spotlight on President Biden and Vice President Harris for their silence regarding the United Nations inviting Iran’s president to the U.N. General Assembly. This silence comes at a time when Iran is stepping up its efforts to meddle in U.S. elections, and it appears that the current administration is more interested in cozying up with adversarial regimes than taking a stand against them.

Just a week prior, the FBI disclosed that Iranian hackers had made off with sensitive information from the Trump campaign and had conveniently passed it to Biden’s team, raising suspicions about the White House’s lackadaisical response. Graham didn’t mince words when he called their inaction the “weakest response” imaginable. Apparently, condemning a rogue regime for undermining American democracy is not on the Biden agenda. Instead, it seems to be crickets from the Oval Office, as Graham pointed out.

The senator emphasized that the proper course of action would be to hit Iran hard for its misdeeds, which, in a just world, would involve more than just stern letters or little-to-no action. Comparing the UN’s invitation to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to a hypothetical scenario where Nazi Germany would have been welcomed to the League of Nations in the 1930s underscores the absurdity of the UN’s actions. Inviting a country that openly supports terrorism and seeks to destabilize the U.S. is not just an oversight; it’s a monumental lapse in judgment.

Graham is not alone in his concerns. Several Republican leaders are echoing calls for a stronger stance against Iran. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has suggested maximum pressure should be applied to the rogue regime, a sentiment that resonates with a lot of Americans who would prefer not to see their democracy undermined by hackers sipping tea in Tehran. Florida Rep. Mike Waltz is also advocating for a focus on Iran rather than the questionable ceasefire negotiations in the Middle East, pointing out that as long as Iran is “flush with cash,” peace isn’t in the cards.

As the world watches, Pezeshkian’s speech at the UN was a slap in the face to those who believe in the rule of law and democratic values. He trivialized Israel’s defensive actions against Hezbollah, calling for countries to focus on a ceasefire in Gaza. Such comments only strengthen the belief among conservatives that Biden’s administration is dropping the ball when it comes to international relations, especially when facing a notoriously aggressive foe like Iran. Meanwhile, Harris’s connection to Iran only deepens as House Speaker Mike Johnson suggests she is the “preferred candidate” for the regime. All of this leads to one glaring conclusion: if there’s an election meddling masterclass being taught, it appears that the Biden administration is curiously in attendance.
