Granholm’s Shady Stocks: Will Biden Demand Resignation?

Granholm in Hot Water Over Conflicts of Interest

Jennifer Granholm, Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary, is finding herself in hot water as calls for her resignation continue to grow louder. This lawyer turned politician has been under scrutiny for her stock holdings in companies that are conveniently backed by the Biden administration. And now, a group of diligent watchdogs has written a letter to President Biden, demanding Granholm’s immediate resignation due to undisclosed stock holdings in Ford and other troubling issues.

The letter highlights Granholm’s repeated deflections and excuses when confronted with these allegations. It seems like she’s always ready with a “it wasn’t my fault” defense. Well, Ms. Granholm, the American public is curious: just where does the buck stop in this administration? It’s important for our leaders to take responsibility for their actions and choices.

Interestingly enough, Granholm previously claimed that she didn’t own any stocks. But as luck would have it, she later retracted that statement, calling it a “mistake,” and confessed that her husband had indeed owned stock in Ford. Now, why is this significant, you may ask? Well, Ford happens to be a major stakeholder in Biden’s electric car agenda. It’s suspicious at best, downright shady at worst.

Granholm attempted to sweep it under the rug, claiming she had been completely unaware of her husband’s financial interests in Ford. Supposedly, he sold his shares for a whopping $2400. As a public servant, Granholm claims to hold herself to the highest ethical standards. But these “oopsies” and accidental omissions seem to be making her commitment ring hollow.

The watchdogs’ letter also highlights a YouTube video in which Granholm enthusiastically promoted the Ford Mustang Mach-E, alongside none other than Pete Buttigieg. Talk about a cozy relationship. It’s clear that Granholm’s actions and repeated apparent violations of ethics laws and regulations are grounds for her immediate resignation.

But this is not the first time Granholm’s ethics have been called into question. When she was appointed in 2021, critics were quick to point out her investments in Protera, an electric bus company that conveniently aligns with Biden’s agenda. She later sold her stocks in Protera at a staggering $1.6 million gain. It’s a prime example of crony capitalism at its finest.

To make matters worse, Granholm has shown a clear indifference toward ethical standards throughout her career. The letter highlights her advocacy for Democratic candidates, a direct violation of the Hatch Act. It seems like Granholm believes she is above the rules and can do as she pleases. This kind of behavior sets a terrible example for her subordinates and contributes to a culture of lax ethical compliance at the Department of Energy.

Will President Biden actually do anything about this? It’s highly doubtful. After all, he’s “the big guy” in charge, right? It seems like he’s willing to turn a blind eye when it’s someone on his team. But the American people deserve better. We deserve leaders who are accountable and uphold the highest ethical standards. Granholm’s resignation should be non-negotiable.
