Fentanyl, a deadly drug, claims the lives of 300 Americans daily. Who is responsible for flooding our streets with this lethal substance? The Mexican cartels. Not the Mexican government, not the Mexican people, but the cartels themselves. Furthermore, these criminal organizations propagate a multi-billion dollar industry of human and drug trafficking that directly harms the United States.
This declaration of war is a bold stance against the Mexican cartels, emphasizing the urgent need to address their actions head-on. Greene’s commitment to protecting American lives and defending our borders is commendable. We must not turn a blind eye to the devastation caused by these criminal organizations.
In a vote on Thursday, Greene was one of only five Republicans who stood against advancing the Pentagon appropriations bill that included additional funding for Ukraine. Her principled stand highlights the importance of dealing with imminent threats at home before allocating resources abroad.
