After suffering a string of embarrassing court losses, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has finally come to her senses and amended her ridiculous 30-day gun ban in Albuquerque. It seems like the governor finally realized that banning guns in public places is just downright unconstitutional! But don’t be fooled by her seemingly acquiescent tone. Grisham still claims she is “far from done fighting to protect New Mexicans.” Well, Governor, how about you start by protecting their constitutional rights?
It’s no surprise that Grisham’s ban has faced legal challenges from multiple groups, including the NRA. But instead of heeding their warnings and dropping the ban, Grisham has chosen to taunt and troll these organizations on social media. This just goes to show how disconnected she is from the values and concerns of ordinary New Mexicans.
Not only is Grisham facing opposition from gun owners and rights groups, but she is also lacking support from fellow Democrats. Even her own party members are turning against her! It’s clear that her power-hungry actions have alienated everyone, regardless of their political affiliation.
But perhaps the most outrageous part of Grisham’s tenure as governor is her unwavering support for Planned Parenthood. While she claims to be concerned about gun violence and protecting New Mexicans, she turns a blind eye to the scandal-ridden abortion provider. It’s no secret that Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in the country, but Grisham seems more interested in protecting their interests than upholding the Constitution.
New Mexico has become a haven for late-term abortions, with the state allowing the procedure throughout all nine months of pregnancy. It’s absolutely sickening that Grisham would prioritize the rights of an abortion provider over the rights of unborn children and law-abiding gun owners. It just goes to show where her true priorities lie.
It’s time for Governor Grisham to step down and let someone who actually respects the Constitution take the reins. New Mexicans deserve a leader who will fight for their rights, not trample on them in the name of a misguided agenda. Let’s hope the courts continue to strike down her unconstitutional power grabs and put an end to her reign of overreach.
