Another day, another horrific attack on innocent children in America. Robin Westman, a 20-something gunman, opened fire on kids at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis during their weekly mass. Two precious children, just 8 and 10 years old, lost their lives while 17 others were wounded. This monster targeted the most vulnerable among us – children at prayer.
The attack happened Wednesday morning as students and families gathered for their first week back at school. Westman fired dozens of rounds through church windows using multiple weapons including a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. He came prepared to cause maximum damage to these innocent souls. The coward then took his own life rather than face justice for his evil acts.
Law enforcement sources reveal Westman left behind disturbing videos and writings online. These included suicide references, violent thoughts, and even a hand-drawn sketch of the church layout. This was clearly a planned attack on a house of worship and learning. The warning signs were there for anyone paying attention.
Once again we see the complete failure of our mental health system and online monitoring. How many red flags does someone need to wave before authorities step in? This domestic terrorist had access to multiple weapons and the internet to spread his hatred. Yet no one stopped him before he could hurt children.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families destroyed by this senseless violence. These were good Christian families sending their kids to a faith-based school for safety and values. Instead they faced every parent’s worst nightmare. The surviving children in critical condition deserve our continued prayers.
This attack represents everything wrong with our declining society. We have abandoned God, ignored mental illness, and failed to protect our most sacred spaces. Churches and schools should be sanctuaries, not hunting grounds for deranged killers. When will enough be enough?
The brave Minneapolis police officers who responded deserve our full support and gratitude. They contained this threat and prevented even more bloodshed. While politicians offer empty words, our first responders put their lives on the line every single day. They are the thin blue line protecting civilization from chaos.
America must wake up and return to the values that made us strong. We need more security at schools, better mental health treatment, and a culture that values life again. These children died because we have failed as a society to protect the innocent and punish evil. Their blood is on all our hands.
