However, the truth is even more grim than initially believed. Recent reports from the BBC reveal that the death toll of Americans has risen to a staggering 22. The White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that another 17 Americans remain unaccounted for, leaving families across the nation clinging to hope for their loved ones’ safe return.
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby issued a somber warning to the American people, preparing them for the possibility of further casualties in the days to come.
