Harris Dodges Details as Booker Defends Vague Policy Proposals

Vice President Kamala Harris continues her game of policy hide-and-seek, insisting on a vague approach that leaves many wondering just what exactly she plans to do if she somehow ends up in the Oval Office. While Sen. Cory Booker, her fellow Democrat from New Jersey, seems more than happy to jump to her defense, his assertions can’t quite obscure the fog of ambiguity surrounding her proposals. Harris has managed to roll out a few economic ideas, most notably a ban on price gouging, which critics have the audacity to call a thinly veiled attempt at price controls. Always a crowd-pleaser among the left, but not exactly a blueprint for economic prosperity.

Booker attempted to convince the nation on CNN’s State of the Union that Harris is, in fact, the Captain of Specificity when it comes to her economic agenda. According to him, she has a detailed plan involving tax credits aimed at creating more housing—which, judging by government’s track record, sounds less like a plan and more like a recipe for disaster. Matthew McConaughey could narrate this plan’s unfolding chaos better than any politician ever could. A housing plan that would likely inflate prices further? Splendid.

As for the topic of abortion, Harris claims she wants to ensure federal law rolls back to pre-Roe v. Wade days. This move would inject the federal government deeper into a matter that, for many, should be left to the states. It’s almost laughable that Booker tossed this out as a shining example of her toughness on reproductive rights. But let’s be real; it’s no secret that the Left has made abortion their sacred cow. Maybe they should consider debating other pressing issues instead of continually hammering the same drum.

Curiously, Harris has managed to avoid sitting down for an in-depth interview since her campaign launch over a month ago, raising eyebrows regarding her transparency. Engaging in debates seems to be a daunting task for her, especially with the prospect of facing Donald Trump looming in the distance. Trump, who has been a debate junkie in the past, is eager to take the stage. And who wouldn’t want to hear Harris defend her policies in real-time? While she’s promised more media appearances, one has to wonder if there are some policy skeletons in her closet she’s not quite ready to reveal.

As the campaign stretches on like a bad sitcom, pressure mounts for Harris to articulate more than just a façade of progressive platitudes. While Booker may insist that she’s got everything under control, her half-hearted attempts at detailed policy proposals raise even more questions than answers. Perhaps voters will eventually discover what lies behind the curtain—but then again, with the current administration’s track record, it may just be more smoke and mirrors, leaving everyone else scratching their heads in bewilderment. Time will tell if Harris will step up or if the airwaves will remain saturated with vague platitudes and woven tales.
