Looks like the betting markets are starting to see what conservatives have been saying all along: President Biden is barely hanging on by a thread, and now even Vice President Kamala Harris has leapfrogged him in White House odds. It’s almost poetic—Biden takes a sick day, and suddenly, he’s the second fiddle in his own party.
BetOnline, a political betting market, moved Ms. Harris ahead of Mr. Biden the moment he tested positive for coronavirus and had to step away from the campaign trail. So much for the Democrats’ golden oldie; it seems the market is betting on the understudy now.

Not that Biden is out of the running just yet. In the internal squabble for the Democratic nominee, he’s still clinging on, although those odds are slipping faster than his approval ratings. The fact that Harris, infamous for her word salads and invisible border czar duties, has better chances of winning the White House says a lot about Biden’s position—or lack thereof.
Harris has odds of +425 to seize the White House, meaning a $100 bet could fetch $425—though one wonders if that’s worth the risk given her track record. Biden, on the other hand, sits at +575, which seems appropriate for a president who can’t stay on the campaign trail due to illness. By comparison, America’s favorite outsider, Donald Trump, is at a solid -275, looking pretty darn bullish.
In the Democrat’s internal battle, Biden’s odds of being nominated have plunged from -800 to -115. That’s quite a nosedive for the guy who’s supposed to be their stalwart leader. Meanwhile, the country watches with a mix of horror and amusement as the left scrambles to figure out who they actually want in charge. It’s almost like watching a circus within a circus.
