The contrasting values between the Democratic Party and traditional Catholic beliefs have never been clearer, especially when discussing the antics of Vice President Kamala Harris. Trying to pull off the image of a “devout” Catholic while openly undermining a centuries-old religious doctrine is quite the act — and not a very good one at that. The Biden-Harris duo continues to roll out a welcome mat for anyone crossing the border while slapping average Americans, particularly devout Catholics, right in the face.
Harris has been facing a considerable backlash from a critical voting bloc that actually cares about religious values. Her stance against core Catholic teachings—particularly on issues such as abortion—is not winning her any favor among constituents in states like Pennsylvania. Her recent record suggests a clear pivot away from the ideals that many Catholic voters take to heart. As was pointed out in a recent article, Harris’ “Pennsylvania problem” can be largely attributed to her unapologetic pro-abortion stance, which stands in stark contrast to the Catholic commitment to protecting life.

But wait, it gets even more absurd. CatholicVote recently claimed that Harris has ties to an anti-Catholic group known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. This peculiar outfit consists of drag queen activists who dress as nuns and engage in outlandish, vulgar performances designed to mock Christianity. Such associations raise eyebrows about Harris’s commitment to her professed faith. Inflammatory ads from CatholicVote challenge Harris on her allegiance to Christianity, urging voters to question whether a woman so chummy with drag queens truly upholds the values of the Church.
The antics of the Sisters include mockery that most would find in poor taste—even to the point of pulling Jesus off the cross while dancing provocatively in scant clothing. This is hardly the model of piety anyone would expect from a person claiming to be grounded in Catholic faith. As CatholicVote’s president pointed out, these so-called “Sisters” are not just your run-of-the-mill LGBTQ activists. They’re built on an agenda to openly ridicule and attack Catholics, and Harris is shamefully documented as being part of this absurd spectacle.
Adding further fuel to the fire, GOP vice presidential candidate Senator JD Vance has jumped in to criticize Harris for her blatant disregard for the Catholic community. The senator highlighted her unprecedented absence from the annual Al Smith dinner, a prestigious event that raises money for Catholic charities. Such a snub says a lot about how Harris views the value of Catholic Americans. Has she made it clear that the voices of devoted Catholics hold little weight in her policy considerations?
The icing on the cake is her insistence that abortion laws shouldn’t include any faith-based exemptions, perfectly encapsulating her indifference to people’s rights to practice their faith. Vance rightly points out that Harris, alongside President Biden, has allowed federal agencies to categorize Catholics as potential threats. It seems she prefers using the power of the government to suppress dissent rather than respecting the fundamental rights of those who adhere to their religious convictions. In essence, it appears that Kamala Harris has drawn a hard line against the very essence of what it means to be “devout.” The way things are shaping up, it is becoming increasingly clear that Catholics have every right to question their allegiance to the current Democratic establishment.
