Harvard University just took a silent step back from racial favoritism, quietly shutting down its decades-old “Minority Recruitment Program.” For 50 years, this program aggressively hunted down minority students in middle and high schools, relentlessly pushing racial preferences under the guise of helping disadvantaged kids. But with the Trump administration’s relentless crackdown on any form of racial discrimination—especially those sneaky affirmative action proxies—Harvard had no choice but to pull the plug.
This program was no innocent college counseling service. It was a race-based recruiting machine that funneled 75 to 90 percent of minority enrollees into Harvard. Now, Harvard replaces the overtly race-driven recruitment with a bland “ambassador” program run by current students. These ambassadors “help” prospective applicants, but crucially, without a racial quota attached. This is a small win for common sense and fairness, but let’s not be naive. Harvard’s entire admissions ecosystem has been rigged for decades, ensuring that talent and hard work took a backseat to identity politics. This move by Harvard is not a voluntary embrace of equality—it’s a grudging response to government pressure.
