Hawaii lawmakers are playing with fire, and every freedom-loving American should be furious. What’s brewing in their state capitol isn’t about “safety” or “emergencies”—it’s about giving the government God-level authority to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants. Two new bills would let the governor declare emergencies with the stroke of a pen, then steamroll over property rights, due process, and even gun ownership. Has everyone already forgotten what real tyranny looks like?
Let’s be clear. These proposals would let officials force people into quarantine, barge into private homes, and even destroy property on a whim. And for what reason? All they have to do is toss around the word “emergency.” Housing too expensive? Suddenly, it’s a crisis, and they sweep the rule of law under the rug. If politicians can call anything an emergency, what’s stopping them from locking down the entire state for whatever “threat” is trending this week?

This isn’t just about Hawaii. It’s a blueprint for the entire liberal agenda. Progressives love to shout about democracy and transparency—until they taste absolute power. Remember how gleeful some governors became during the COVID lockdowns? Mandates, closures, forced vaccines—some would still be pushing for more if they thought they could get away with it. The left can’t help themselves. Give them emergency powers, and they’ll twist every law, wipe out your rights, and rewrite society in their own image.
Let’s talk guns. These bills make it clear: in an “emergency,” your right to bear arms is negotiable. Liberals in power will gladly seize guns in the name of “public safety” while doing nothing about real criminal threats. But they won’t stop there—they’ll strip away due process, trample property rights, and bulldoze over every part of the Constitution that gets in their way.
This is the kind of power our Founders warned us about—the kingly, unchecked authority America fought to escape. Today, politicians with dreams of central control are hoping you’re not paying attention. Maybe Hawaiians will wake up before it’s too late. Maybe not. But the truth is this: Once you let bureaucrats become kings, there’s no guarantee you’ll ever get your freedom back. How much longer will Americans let the left use “emergencies” to destroy our liberties, one bill at a time?
