In a fiery exchange on Fox News, host Martha MacCallum grilled National Security Council spokesman John Kirby over President Biden’s continued denial of involvement in his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings. MacCallum referenced a recent interaction between Peter Doocy and the President, where Doocy asked about Hunter’s former business associate, Devon Archer. Archer testified that Hunter would put calls on speakerphone during meetings to demonstrate his access to the then-vice president and to sell the Biden brand. MacCallum pressed Kirby on whether Hunter presenting his father on speakerphone indicated open access to him. Kirby maintained that Biden had consistently denied any discussions about business with his son or his son’s business partners.
MacCallum’s persistent questioning revealed the frustration many conservatives feel about the President’s denial and lack of transparency regarding his son’s business dealings. It’s a story that has been a thorn in the side of the Biden administration, as the allegations of corruption and conflicts of interest surrounding Hunter’s overseas ventures continue to make headlines. The American people deserve answers, and it’s clear that MacCallum is determined to hold the administration accountable.

It’s not surprising that Kirby provided the same narrative that Biden has repeatedly stated – that there were no discussions about business with Hunter or his business partners. However, many conservatives remain skeptical of these claims, especially given the mounting evidence and testimony suggesting otherwise. This exchange on Fox News only furthered the perception that the administration is avoiding the tough questions and refusing to address the concerns of the American people.
As the Biden administration continues to navigate these controversies, it remains to be seen whether they can put this issue to rest. However, one thing is clear: conservatives like MacCallum are not going to let it go anytime soon. They will continue to press for answers and hold the President accountable, no matter how uncomfortable it may make the administration.
