Higbie Blasts Dems: “Left Smokes More Illegal Than Migrants

Carl Higbie didn’t mince words on Friday’s Carl Higbie FRONTLINE when he slammed Democrats for defending illegal migrants, quipping that “the left is smoking something more illegal than the migrants they’re defending” as he tore into the hypocrisy of elites who cheer open borders from the safety of gated neighborhoods. His show has become a nightly reminder that conservatives are the only ones willing to name the obvious: lawlessness dressed up as compassion still destroys communities.

This isn’t mere rhetorical flourish — it’s the logical consequence of policies the left has embraced for years. Former Rep. Lee Zeldin and other conservatives have repeatedly argued that many sanctuary-city and catch-and-release decisions were made by design, not incompetence, and that those choices have overwhelmed local services and eroded public safety. Americans see the chaos in their cities and they know who engineered it.

Republican lawmakers have been warning about the tools and loopholes that enabled mass migration, and those warnings are now being borne out in policy fights. Senator James Lankford told Newsmax that Democrats set up systems like the CBP One app that were later exploited to track and process enormous numbers of migrants, and other reporting shows the federal government is moving to revoke certain legal statuses and impose steep penalties for noncompliance. If you build a system that invites people in without accountability, expect a reckoning.

The consequences are real for American workers and taxpayers. Former enforcement officials like Tom Homan have pointed out that illegal labor undercuts wages, forces citizens out of jobs, and rewards lawbreaking; that’s cold comfort for the hard-working men and women who show up every day and play by the rules. Conservatives are right to insist that immigration policy must protect American labor and restore fairness to the marketplace.

Yet while ordinary Americans pay the price, elected Democrats posture about “humanitarianism” while shielding jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Members of Congress and conservative leaders have called out sanctuary policies and supported withholding federal funds from jurisdictions that actively obstruct enforcement — because rule of law must mean something or it means nothing at all. Our cities shouldn’t be playgrounds for lawlessness no matter how fashionable it is among coastal elites.

The bottom line is simple: rhetoric without remedy is cruelty. We can sympathize with genuine refugees while still insisting on orderly, enforceable immigration laws that sift out criminals and protect citizens; anyone who pretends otherwise is either naïve or politically calculating. Conservatives will keep pushing for policies that secure borders, hold officials accountable, and put Americans first.

Patriots don’t wring their hands and surrender neighborhoods to disorder; we organize, vote, and demand leaders who respect the law. If Democrats prefer virtue signaling to enforcement, they’ll own the consequences at the ballot box — and hardworking Americans will remember who stood for order, safety, and common sense.
