For those who have espoused a more lenient approach to immigration, it’s like watching their worst nightmare unfold. Homan didn’t mince words. Even if someone hasn’t yet been ordered to leave by a federal judge, he suggested they might want to start packing. The audience’s applause echoed judgment day for anyone overstaying their welcome.
It’s hard not to chuckle at the stark contrast between the administration’s rigid stance and the frenzied uproar it incites among progressives. While they clutch their pearls and argue for a kinder, gentler approach, Homan’s statement marks a return to the good old “law and order” days. It’s a reminder that rules are in place for a reason, even if some folks wish they stood on a pulpit of pure compassion.
The administration’s priorities are clear, and for some, it’s a breath of fresh air. They believe it’s high time someone tackled the immigration issue head-on, albeit without the sweet lullaby of progressive platitudes.
