Hoodie-Wearing Senator Praises Trump’s Bold Move Against Dictator

In a world where political backbiting and tribalism reign supreme, it’s rare to see a Democrat give credit to a conservative success. Yet, Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania seems to be one of those rare unicorns in politics these days. Sure, he’s often seen in a hoodie and basketball shorts, but at least the man knows how to recognize a foreign policy win when he sees one. Donald Trump’s decisive action in helping remove Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro is exactly that.

Maduro led a regime marked by economic collapse and narco-terrorism. Still, too often, Democrats refuse to acknowledge any success that could be associated with Trump. Fetterman, however, seemed to break this mold by recognizing the capture of Maduro as a positive step for Venezuela, even if it came under Trump’s watch. It’s amusing how he connected the dots, admitting that Trump’s administration, in collaboration with others, executed a plan that removed a brutal dictator.

While Fetterman speaks truths, many of his Democrat colleagues do the opposite. Instead of acknowledging a victory against tyranny, they engage in fear-mongering and hypothetical objections. Chuck Schumer, for example, seems more concerned with warning of “endless wars” than celebrating the liberation of a nation from a narco-dictator. It’s the same old dance: If Trump had a hand in it, they claim it must be dangerous or reckless, regardless of the evident positive outcomes.

Let’s not pretend this kind of partisan posturing exists only in a vacuum. It’s symptomatic of a larger issue within the Democratic Party. They’ve become so obsessed with resisting Trump that they’re willing to ignore reality, even when it means denying the plight of Venezuelans who suffered under Maduro. The party of so-called progress has lost touch with progress itself, seemingly more interested in opposing Trump at any cost.

The question remains: When will more Democrats realize their obsession with Trump needs to take a back seat to real-world outcomes? If a hoodie-wearing senator from Pennsylvania can put partisanship aside long enough to acknowledge a victory when he sees one, why can’t his colleagues? Maybe the problem isn’t Trump at all, but a political movement that’s forgotten its principles in favor of pure spite.
