The Biden administration’s electric vehicle agenda has pushed America straight into an energy quagmire. With uncritical devotion to electric cars and a reckless waste of taxpayer money, Democrats have turned the promises of green energy into a punchline. It’s about time Republicans stand up against this financial fiasco masquerading as progress. The latest move by House Republicans to cut down federal subsidies for electric vehicles is a breath of fresh air, suffocating only to the extreme environmental agenda of the left.
Elon Musk, a pioneer in the electric vehicle space, has long expressed that his company doesn’t need handouts from the government. Yet, the Democrats have thought it wise to shovel billions in subsidies to other auto companies that seem to treat federal funds as their personal piggy bank. These are businesses that have shamefully lined up to milk every last drop from Biden’s misguided Inflation Reduction Act, a bill as misnamed as it is mismanaged.

Eliminating the $7,500 tax credit for EV buyers isn’t just economical; it’s sensible policy that corrects the Democrats’ drunken spending spree. For too long, American taxpayers have footed the bill for unsustainable startups and malfunctioning charging stations. And we’re all suffering the fallout from Ford and GM, who gambled with billions, only to end with colossal losses. The rot runs deep, and it’s time to clean house.
The end of other credits for renewable energy businesses must also be part of this overdue reckoning. Green or “blue” hydrogen dreams are just that—dreams, fueled by the absurd arm-twisting of Biden’s team. The Democrats’ green games with taxpayer money have gone on long enough. Even the oil giants looking to siphon off these credits knew the fairytale would eventually end.
America cannot afford to keep chasing the Democrats’ green utopia when reality waits with empty pockets and failing infrastructure. Are House Republicans finally the adults back in the room? As this reckless experiment in electric vehicles and green energy ends, one thing is clear: what the Biden administration sees as a legacy, history will judge as a disaster of epic proportions.
