House to Grill Secret Service on Trump Assassination Attempt

The House Oversight Committee is set for a digital rundown from the Secret Service regarding the audacious attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life. It seems even after leaving office, Trump is still the prime target of leftist angst, with this latest incident taking security breaches to new lows.

Adding to the drama, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is expected to be in the hot seat before the committee on July 22. It should be entertaining to see how she juggles the tough questions, considering the hearing is just days after the Republican National Convention, where Trump is about to seal the deal as the GOP nominee for president. Timing, as they say, is everything.

House Speaker Mike Johnson quickly assures everyone that this fiasco won’t just be swept under the rug. He took to social media to promise a comprehensive investigation into how a gun-toting lunatic got within a stone’s throw of taking out a former commander-in-chief. The image of a man with a semiautomatic rifle on a roof just 140 yards from Trump’s stage should make anyone question how in the world the Secret Service let this happen.

This glaring breach of security is shaping up to be the most catastrophic since Reagan took a bullet in 1981. The Secret Service, known for its ironclad protection, now has some explaining to do. How did an armed individual get that close to Trump without setting off alarm bells?

In the aftermath, notices from the Senate and House assured that they aren’t tracking additional threats. But who can believe them when this level of security lapse nearly changed American history yet again? The Capitol Police may not be tracking threats, but the American people are certainly tracking the incompetence.

The House’s investigation can’t come soon enough. It’s about time some accountability is brought to the table. Suffice it to say, every conservative out there should keep a close eye on this one.
