The disgraceful antics of the Biden family took center stage at the White House this week as the president hosted his last round of Christmas parties. These gatherings drew a crowd of social media “influencers” who seemed less interested in yuletide cheer and more focused on capturing the perfect selfie with none other than Hunter Biden, a man whose only claim to fame appears to be the fact that he’s related to the president.
Once the party kicked off, the real winners were the “influencers,” who probably wouldn’t know the meaning of hard work if it slapped them in the face. Instead of being role models for real Americans, these online personalities flocked to the White House to rub shoulders with the ever-controversial Hunter Biden, a paragon of privilege and questionable life choices. The juxtaposition of political power and social media fame is the modern fairy tale nobody asked for, and it’s hard to ignore the eye-roll that ensues when one considers the countless hardworking Americans watching from afar.

The optics of a president throwing a lavish party while various parts of the country are in turmoil certainly raises eyebrows. After all, the cost of living is skyrocketing, and inflation is stealing the Christmas spirit right out of many families’ celebrations this year. But apparently, for the Biden administration, it’s still all about the glam and the glitz, as long as the cameras keep flashing and the followers keep clicking.
While many families are busy trimming their trees and tightening their budgets, Hunter Biden is living the high life, leveraging his last name to gain access to environments where ordinary citizens are either unwelcome or unable to attend. It’s a glaring example of the elite disconnect that continues to plague this administration. The Bidens seem blissfully unaware (or just simply uninterested) in how their extravagant lifestyle contrasts with the struggles of everyday Americans.
In a display of tone-deafness that would make even the most seasoned politicians blush, this administration proves once again that for them, nothing says “holiday spirit” like the face of privilege front and center in the nation’s most iconic residence. While the rest of America gets the leftovers, the Bidens throw a party, reminding everyone that they are more than just a political dynasty; they are the reigning champions of social media optics.
