On Thursday, Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, was slapped with criminal tax charges for the second time since his father took office. Special counsel David Weiss brought nine charges against Biden, alleging that he failed to pay $1.4 million in federal taxes over a four-year period. The charges claim that Biden engaged in a scheme to evade taxes and filed false returns, making a grand total of $1.4 million owed to the IRS. Yikes! This doesn’t look good for the first son at all!

Weiss had initially tried to strike a plea deal with Hunter Biden, in which he would plead guilty to two misdemeanors and enter a pretrial diversion agreement to dodge a felony gun charge. However, the plea deal fell through, and now Weiss is pursuing charges in the Central District of California. Seems like Hunter Biden is in some hot water, and it’s not just from a jacuzzi!
Furthermore, it’s been reported that Weiss has been granted special counsel status by Attorney General Merrick Garland. This means Weiss has more autonomy in prosecuting Hunter Biden and can bring charges in any district he wants. It looks like the legal heat is turning up on Hunter Biden! And that’s not even mentioning the three felony charges related to an alleged illegal revolver purchase in 2018. It seems that Hunter Biden just can’t seem to stay out of trouble!
The investigation into Biden’s tax issues has raised concerns about the Department of Justice’s handling of the case. Some Republicans have accused the DOJ of giving Biden preferential treatment by not pursuing all potential charges against him. They’ve even gone so far as to consider launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden over allegations that he used his influence to benefit his son and other family members through foreign business deals. This is definitely not a good look for the Biden family!
With Weiss’s office not commenting on the matter and this story still developing, it looks like the drama surrounding Hunter Biden’s legal troubles is far from over. Looks like there’s more trouble brewing for the first family, and the Republicans are ready to pounce! This is definitely a story to keep an eye on!
