According to a report, the lawyer for Hunter Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, warned the Department of Justice that his father would be called as an informant if he was indicted. The report has been regarded as a strong indication of the credibility of the whistleblowers who have already testified before Congress.
According to the leaked emails from October 2022, the prosecutors of the Department of Justice (DOJ) had enough evidence to indict Hunter Biden for gun and tax crimes. His attorney, Chris Clark stated that if his client was indicted, the president would be a witness. Jordan also called the idea of Biden testifying and facing the prosecutors ridiculous.
Jordan also highlighted a certain detail in the report. It states that in 2019, Hunter refused to meet with his lawyers due to an earlier engagement with lawyers for impeachment. This raises questions regarding his communications with individuals related to the Burisma scandal.
Jordan will look into these issues, and the investigation will mainly focus on a meeting between the FBI and the IRS on October 7, 2022. According to Joe Ziegler and Gary Shapley, the special counsel for the IRS, David Weiss, denied that he had the final say regarding whether or not to indict Biden.
Jason Smith, a Republican from Missouri, stated that the threats made by Hunter's legal team gave more weight to the testimonies of Ziegler and Shapley. He believes that the whistleblowers have changed the history of the country.
As a result of these developments, Smith and Jordan have issued multiple subpoenas to key individuals, such as the FBI and IRS officials. Although the investigation is still in its early stages, it has become clear that the credibility of these whistleblowers is growing.
