2024 GOP Presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson seems to be in a bit of a pickle, folks. He’s flirting dangerously with the idea of being left out of the GOP’s debate stage in August. Yikes! With only about 5,000 donors under his belt out of the required 40,000, Hutchinson is admitting he’s got some serious catching up to do. Speaking on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, Hutchinson said, and I quote, “I’ll be very straightforward with you — I’m not there yet.” Well, no kidding, Mr. Hutchinson!
Now, the man isn’t completely without hope. He’s optimistic that he can round up enough donors to sneak his way into the August 23 debate in Milwaukee. See, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has a few pesky requirements. They want at least 200 unique donors from 20-plus states or territories. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle, but the pieces keep slipping through your fingers! Hutchinson isn’t thrilled with these requirements, calling them artificial lines. He believes the RNC should loosen up a bit instead of tightening the noose around their candidates’ necks. And hey, who could blame him? The man is currently polling at a whopping 1.3%! (Insert sarcastic slow clap here.)
But wait, there’s more! Hutchinson is playing coy on his fundraising numbers for the second quarter, refusing to reveal just how much money he’s managed to rake in. Oh, but don’t you worry, he’s oh-so-proud of his precious earnings. Meanwhile, his GOP rival, former President Trump, has already raised over $35 million. I guess it’s like comparing a wiener dog to a racehorse, folks. Not even in the same league!

And get this, Hutchinson has made it abundantly clear that he won’t be throwing his support behind Trump if he becomes the GOP’s 2024 nominee. Apparently, he doesn’t think the frontrunner is the right man to lead the country. Well, that’s a bold statement, Mr. Hutchinson. But hey, who needs unity when you can just tear down your own party’s leading contender? That’s one way to guarantee a massive loss, right?
In fact, while Hutchinson is scrambling for donors, other GOP candidates are already proudly flaunting their impressive numbers. Representatives for Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott, and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have all confidently announced that they’ve secured 40,000 donors. Not only that, but they’ve managed to meet the RNC’s pesky requirements with 200 unique donors in at least 20 states or territories. It seems like they’re playing a different game altogether, doesn’t it? Meanwhile, Hutchinson is playing catch-up, desperately hoping to avoid being left in the dust.
Well, good luck, Mr. Hutchinson, because you’re going to need it. Maybe it’s time to take a step back and reevaluate your approach. Because right now, it’s looking like you’re more likely to find Bigfoot than find those elusive donors. Just saying.
